RotoView Demonstration

This page describes the RotoView demonstration and development system for the iPhone and iPod touch platform. Please review the roadmap page for our upcoming development for the Windows Mobile and Android operating systems.

Quick Start

RotoView technology provides one of the most fundamental functions in a smart media device - view navigation. As such, it may be applied for any view appearing on the device, whether it is an image, a table, a web site or a menu. We hope that RotoView will be adopted by the major manufacturers into the operating systems of their devices so that RotoView functionality will be available at every view object. For the time being, we demonstrate and develop the RotoView functionality using an application that operates on a specific view selected by the user.

Initial Screen Image Selection

Activating the RotoView app provides an image selection button following the initial screen. Press Open to choose an image on which you will demonstrate RotoView tilt-based navigation. You can use the top left triangular button to turn on the optional set of arrows at the bottom used for manual navigation. You can press it again to remove the manual navigation arrows. This is a good opportunity to use multi-touch to enlarge the view. As mentioned, RotoView is well adapted to co-exist with and complement multi-touch functions.

You can activate RotoView by shaking the device or by touching the RotoView title on the navigation bar. RotoView will now command the view navigation process. Tilt your way in any direction. Notice that you can perform multi-touch operation in conjunction with the RotoView activity.

To explore RotoView, press the More button. This will bring you to the Setup, Graph Editor and Ballistics screens.

Explore RotoView Further

Pressing More allows you to explore the many other features of the RotoView development app. You should notice that at its default state, the RotoView demo stays in Navigation Mode for 7 seconds and automatically exits if there is no activity for 0.8 seconds. Also, the navigation mode can end if there is no movement activity for a certain time or if the user touches the RotoView On switch at the navigation bar. In fact, the RotoView application is an advanced development system that can be used to design various RotoView navigation profiles to be used for different applications. Of course, when you license RotoView for your application you can provide simple and fully optimized setup selections for your end-users.

The RotoView app is also an advanced development system for designing better navigation profiles. The RotoView time response graph creates complex view navigation responses that may start with coarse navigation and gradually change to fine navigation. The Ballistics table captures all sensor and response data of the last RotoView navigation.

The screens above gives you a glimpse on how the RotoView app can be used to design and investigate various response curves and navigation profiles. Please review the Features and Specifications section for more details.
